BRIDGEWATER'S FINISHING TOUCHES: When you book selected villa rentals on the Tuscany coast, (in particular Marina di Pietrasanta and Pietrasanta)  Bridgewater is pleased to offer some pre-arranged extra services which will enable your to personalise your holiday & enhance your enjoyment of the area leaving you free to relax and simply enjoy yourselves. 

We are occasionally asked why we don’t include some of the services in the villa rental, such as full hampers, beach arrangements etc- the reason being that our villa holidays are for people with varied tastes and individual requirements. Obviously if extra services are automatically included then these costs have to be built into the villa rental and this may not suit all our guests. Therefore we offer a basic rental which includes a clean and comfortable property made ready for your arrival, crockery and cutlery, iron, bed linen including a basic supply of towels (bathroom/kitchen,beach/pool), gas/electricity charges and final cleaning on departure. Guests who stay more than one week also have an end of week villa clean and linen change.

Our aim is to make your arrival as stress free as possible and generally help to improve your holiday experience in Marina di Pietrasanta and surrounding area in the hope that you will recommend our services and give us the opportunity of being your hosts in Versilia in the future.

CELEBRATIONS:  Celebrate a special occasion with a bouquet of flowers and champagne/wine or a presentation basket of fruit delivered to someone special at your villa. Bridgewater can arrange the following:  Bouquet of flowers and a bottle of decent sparkling/ still wine, Luxury bouquet of flowers and a bottle of French Champagne, Presentation basket of seasonal fruit and French Champagne, Birthday / celebration cake .    

CHEF  / COOK:  Why not dine 'al fresco' and have someone else do the hard work for you? Bridgewater can arrange for a chef on a daily basis or for a one off special meal.  There is an hourly rate to pay for the chefs services and food is payable locally.

Alternatively we can arrange for a chef to come and give you a one to one cookery lesson in your villa, or arrange a cookery day at an oil / wine producing estate. Please let us know at the time of booking if this is of interest to you.

EXTRA MAID SERVICE:  A great service for those who enjoy the freedom and independence of a villa holiday yet prefer a hotel type service. To guarantee availability of the service, please book well in advance.   The local labour force rely on seasonal work to guarantee continuous employment so they need to organise summer work schedules early in the year.  Florentine and Milanese visitors seek out local help in springtime and offer to pay them up to three times the normal hourly rate to clean their summer homes, which is why we have to book our maids’ time well before the tourist season starts!   Maid’s duties include making/changing beds, sweeping and washing floors, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, washing dishes.

BABYSITTING SERVICE:  English speaking babysitters are available.  You can book this in advance or direct with our representative in Italy whist you are there but please give at least 36 hours notice .  We cannot guarantee that we will always be able to fulfil this requirement unless you book in advance but we will always do our best! Payment is to be made direct to the babysitter.  Refunds are not possible once the sitter has been booked.

WINE TASTING:  We can arrange an afternoon of wine tasting at a local cantina on request. Cantine del Sole is situated in the heart of Camaiore and has been established for over 50 years.

Your host Gian Luca has selected some of Tuscany's best wines and local produce and will be pleased to introduce you to some of his favourites.  Wines, oil, cheese, salami, prosciutto, honey, james, olives etc!

BICYCLE HIRE:  There are 2 cycle tracks in the area, one that connects Pietrasanta old town past the pinewoods and down to the sea. The other track runs the length the beach road.  The usual procedure once you have located the hire shop is to produce your identification documents, pay a security deposit then wait whilst suitable bicycles are prepared for you. To eliminate these inconveniences, Bridgewater can arrange a  bicycle delivery service. Bikes delivered to your villa on the day of arrival & collected on day of departure.

HAMPER: Our basic rentals include a basic starter pack in which you will find a toilet roll, a few dishwasher tablets, kitchen cloths, bottle water, sachets tea & coffee, UHT milk, matches & candles. To help make this first day in Versilia run more smoothly, we can arrange for a full food /drinks hamper to be delivered to the villa.  Contents may vary according to the season however local staff ensure value for money, the cost includes a standard local service charge for car petrol and time.  Unfortunately we cannot take requests for specific items. 

BEACH CLUB: One of the most pleasurable aspects of a holiday in the Pietrasanta area is the discovery of how relaxing local beach life can be. At first, the sight of the regimented rows of brightly coloured parasols may not appeal to those people who are used to less organised beaches, but in reality, in this crowded busy world of ours, it works well. It may take you a couple of days to realise how this system provides a relaxing environment in which to sit back and unwind.

TAXI: There is a taxi rank outside arrivals at Pisa Airport, alternatively we can pre-arrange taxi transfers from Pisa Airport to your villa for a £5 Booking fee. Bridgewater does not process payment for taxis. 

We organise the booking on your behalf and you pay the taxi driver direct.

TICKETS TO SPECIAL EVENTS: 

Puccini Opera festival:

The Puccini opera festival is at Torre del Lago, approx 6 miles from Pietrasanta. The world famous open air Opera season runs from 15 June to 23 August. The mountains form a back drop to the stage as the operas are performed along the lakeside.  Reservations and tickets available from Festival Puccini. www.puccinifestival.it

Florence Museums and Art Galleries:

(UFFIZZI, ACCADEMIA, GALLERIA, PALATINA, PITTI PALACE).  Avoid the queues and book a time slot in advance. www.tickitaly.com
