ITALIAN PROPERTY MARKET, WHY ITALY? 

Italy in general is an attractive prospect to investors due to the fact that it is accessible from most European capitals and The low cost airlines have opened routes (and continue to open new routes) to many of Italy’s regional airports.  This has a knock on effect on property prices in these areas. Countrywide, house prices have risen around 7.2% year on year  and in areas where no frills airlines are operating routes, the projected increases are as high as 20%.

For those interested in the buy-to let market, the high tourist numbers coming to Italy are encouraging.  In addition there is also a strong internal market, as Italians take great pleasure in enjoying their own country and make a point of traveling around it.

Last but not least favourable tax legislation make Italy a hot property spot for investors.  There is no wealth or capital tax gains and if you take out residency it is possible to cut your property costs considerably.
