There are two ski slopes you can ski down Mont Etna, North and South. Each one ends in a different district. Both are serviced by ski lifts and plenty of facilities. Best to check before you go that there is no volcanic activity!
September, Couscous Festival
This unique festival is dedicated to North African gastronomy, is held every year on the beautiful seafront of San Vito Lo Capo. Alongside the main event there is a full week of entertainment.
February, Sant' Agata in Catania.
A celebration of Sicily's patron saint which has been carried out for the past 5 centuries. Over one million locals and tourists fill the streets of the town and the Piazza Duomo which is lit up by a fantastic firework display. This is a sacred event but there is also much fun to be had.
June, Taormina Film Festival
This International Film Festival takes place in the Palazzo dei Congressi and in Taormina's famous Greek Theatre. It is a competitive film festival screening film previews, independent features, documentaries, shorts and tributes to filmmakers of the past.
February, Sciacca Carnival
Colourful costumes and decorated floats, the carnival in the pretty village of Sciacca is a testimony to Sicily's rich cultural heritage.
