Bridgewater’s Idyllic Italy
Our story so far
“Wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow.”
― Anita Desai
Italy is so much more than just a holiday destination to us. The country has become part of who we are – the backdrop for so many happy family memories since 1973. Today, the allure of Italy keeps pulling us back – We’ve lived and worked between Italy and the UK for over four decades, so nobody knows this wonderful country better than we do. Even after all this time – this wonderful country never fails to delight us with each new visit.
Barry and Christine Pearson began renting villas on the Tuscan coast in 1973……47 years on, Bridgewater’s Idyllic Italy remains family owned and managed by the Pearson sisters: Nicola and Lucy.
We were lucky enough to grow up spending our summers in Lucca & on the Tuscan coast – travelling extensively throughout Tuscany with our parents on their contracting trips. Hours of hot car journeys through Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Siena & San Gimignano, Arezzo & Cortona – made bearable by the promise of jumping in the pool & Italian hospitality upon arrival ! Not only did these Italian journeys provide us with precious family memories – but combined with our travel industry experience they have equipped us with an unrivalled knowledge which we can now pass on to you. We both speak Italian and have a passion for Italy, its regions, food, history art and culture.
We are lucky enough to have visited hundreds of villas in Italy – we have an excellent knowledge of the Italian property market and know the importance of getting the details right.
We are very privileged to have organised Italian holidays for so many of our valued clients. For us, there is no better feeling than receiving a thank you letter to say that we exceeded your expectations and that you will look back on your holiday for years to come.
We still travel to Italy several times a year inspecting properties / meeting with owners & local agents and every summer we re-group on the Tuscan coast with our own children – which means we can give you first-hand personal advice on the area . We also have lots of experience of driving to Italy from the UK with small children and teenagers and happy to share tips on routes and keeping everybody happy (be prepared for plenty of ‘are we there yet?’)
Thank you for stopping by – We look forward to speaking with you and being your hosts in Italy very soon!
