A wonderful restored villa, which was once a 'bottega', perched on the top of a hill between Lucca and the Tuscan coast - a highly sought after location. All the tranquility of the countryside whilst only a short drive from the hustle and bustle of the coast and the long wide golden sandy beaches. Private pool with stunning views over vineyards, olive groves & chestnut woods. The perfect solution for guests looking for a peaceful base to explore the region.
The house was built at the beginning of the 1900s and has higher ceilings and larger windows than the classical Tuscan farmhouses which creates a lovely ambience of space and light. The careful restoration has ensured that the property still maintains many of the original features from when the property was the local “bottega” (general store).
It is a particularly bright house with two separate living areas. There is a living/book room on the ground floor and a large kitchen/dining/living room on the lower ground floor with direct access to the terrace facing the valley (views!) and equipped for al fresco dining.
The owners have just completed a major restoration adding modern comforts while preserving the original terracotta floors and beamed ceilings. They have also furnished the house with pieces which reflect their international background. In particular, the African connection which is reflected in some of the decor gives the house a special touch not often seen in Tuscan villas.
The swimming pool is located in a very panoramic position, overlooking the valley.
Ground Floor: Main entrance into the living/book room; double bedroom with en-suite bathroom.
Lower Ground Loor: Large, open plan kitchen with pizza oven, dining area, sitting area with open fireplace. Double doors opening to the terrace facing the valley with outdoor eating.
First Floor: Double bedroom; twin bedroom with cast iron poster beds; single bedroom; bathroom; bathroom (shower only).
Swimming pool 12x4m; central heating; bbq; stereo; dvd player.
