Arezzo is one of the many hidden jewels of Tuscany. Being slightly less well known makes it one of the nicest cities to explore. Real life continues to buzz around you while you wander around taking in some of the best architecture Tuscany has to offer. Like many towns and cities in this area it has its roots in Etruscan times, through Roman development and later a Medieval touch right up to modern day.
It's small enough to explore in a day, yet everybody wants to return again and again.

Montepulciano, whilst being world famous for its wine is in fact a beautiful place to visit too. Its architecture is mainly Renaissance and Medieval with those winding streets that make so many Tuscan postcards. It boasts some fantastic views sountryside views too.
